Members of Base71’s Young People’s Development Group paid a visit to Barnsley Civic on Thursday 22 January, the very place they’ll be returning to next month to pitch their ideas to the “dragons den” style panel as part of Ambition Arena: Your Pitch, Your Summer, funded through Barnsley Council’s Great Childhoods Ambition.
Ambition Arena puts young people aged 8–18 in the driving seat, giving them the chance to bid for up to £3,000 to bring their own summer 2026 activity ideas to life, while building confidence, creativity and entrepreneurial skills along the way.
We’re so proud of how engaged and motivated the group were last night, and we can’t wait to cheer them on when they take to the stage at Barnsley Civic in February.
